Program Costs and Budget
Living cost during the program

Former participants suggested you would need at least $800-1,000 for the time you will be in Japan. This covers personal expenses of food and snacks, health and hygiene products, postage, school supplies including textbooks, local transportation fare, etc. If you plan to travel during the Long Weekend or after the program, you need to bring extra.

School health insurance

It is mandatory to buy school health insurance for 900 yen. (See

Bicycle rental fee

We provide a bicycle to each participant during the program period for a fee of 4,000 yen (rental fee for 3,000 yen and a deposit for 1,000 yen). The deposit will be returned if the bicycle is returned without any damage. Make sure to abide by the Loaner Bicycle Regulations and Contracts to be given in the living orientation.

Cleaning deposit

We will collect the cleaning deposit of ¥3,000 at the living orientation. The deposit will be returned if the rooms, furnishings and electric appliances are cleaned and returned to their original conditions upon your check out.
