KIT-IJST Guidebook 2014

Program Costs and Budget
Living cost during the program

Former participants suggested you would need at least $800-1,000 for the time you will be in Japan. This covers personal expenses of food and snacks, health and hygiene products, postage, school supplies including textbooks, local transportation fare, etc. If you plan to travel during the Long Weekend or after the program, you need to bring extra.

School health insurance

It is mandatory to buy school health insurance for 900 yen. (See http://www.kanazawa-it.ac.jp/ekit/exchanges/international_2_1.html)

Bicycle rental fee

We provide a bicycle to each participant for a fee of 1,000 yen. Make sure to abide by the Loaner Bicycle Regulations and Contracts to be given in the living orientation.

FUTON sheets

We rent a futon set (mattress, blanket, and pillow) for each participant. One set of sheets is provided for each, but if you need an extra set, bring it from your home country or buy one in Japan at your own cost.
