Education & Research
The practical internship, as part of the undergraduate curriculum, is counted as credit towards internships participated in during the summer vacation period (5 days or more). Through pre- and post-internship study, and work experience at a company, students enhance their basic skills as members of society, and gain clarity on their visions for the future.
At KIT, there is also an internship program run within the university which allows students to work as Student Staff, in roles such as assisting with the administration of the Student Support Center, or as SAs/TAs, assisting with the training of teachers. In 2015, 1318 students participated in this program. This number equates to approximately one in every five enrolled students. In order to improve the campus environment, students working in the program actively engage in its management. Not only do they receive remuneration, but it also helps develop a comprehensive set of skills.
