Educational Objectives of the College of Informatics and Human Communication and its Departments

In today's constantly developing advanced information society, engineers are required to proactively use information technologies to identify problems and propose solutions. We regard information as a means of communication among things, people and society, and encourage our students to study collaboratively and extensively without being bound by the fields of media, psychology and management. We train our students to become flexible, creative engineers who are able to use their knowledge and skills to benefit society.

Department Objectives
Media Informatics

We are now living in a ubiquitous network society with information communication via all kinds of media. We teach our students about the latest information technology such as CG, mobile technology and network security, and help them to gain the sensitivity required for the creation of digital content such as visual images, music and websites, as well as the planning and implementation skills to integrate both of these in a practical manner. We produce flexible, creative engineers who are able to develop and operate digital content, systems and services in every field of society.

In today’s globalized and highly advanced information society, engineers in every field are required to have skills in both management and information technology. We teach our students the basic skills and mindset to launch a business that is beneficial to society, the knowledge and skills for efficient management of businesses and organizations, and management and information technology skills. Thus, we produce human resources who are able to improve people’s lives with their creativity and implementation skills.

Psychological Science

Understanding the workings of the human mind is not only helpful for everyday life, but it is now also becoming important for manufacturing and user experience etc. In this department, in addition to learning about mind function, students also acquire skills for its application in clinical settings, skills for measuring sensitivity and mind function scientifically, and their application to the real world, and skills for understanding the relationship between the brain/nerve structure and mind function.
